Settsukyo Gorge is a valley and park area located in the northern part of Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture. Its natural scenery, a blend of clear streams, sheer cliffs, and lush green mountains, is its main attraction. It has long been a popular summer retreat and recreational spot for locals, and its ever-changing scenery throughout the seasons captivates visitors. The autumn foliage, in particular, is famous, attracting many tourists and photography enthusiasts. The park is equipped with walking trails, observation spots, and picnic areas, making it ideal for hiking, strolling, and family leisure.

  • Valleys and clear streams:The contrast between the water flowing over the rocky cliffs and the surrounding trees is beautiful, allowing you to fully enjoy nature while walking along the river.

  • Cherry blossoms (spring):You can enjoy cherry blossoms along the walking paths and in the park areas, making it possible to combine a stroll with cherry blossom viewing.

  • Observation spots and rest areas:There are spots overlooking the valley, benches, and picnic areas where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)

  • Train + Bus / Walking:
    • The most common way to get there is by bus or taxi from JR Takatsuki Station or Hankyu Takatsuki-shi Station. Bus schedules vary depending on the season and time, so it's recommended to check the timetable in advance.
    • Alternatively, you can access it on foot from JR Settsu-Tomita Station (approximately 30-40 minutes on foot, depending on your physical condition and the route).
  • car:Parking may be available, but it tends to fill up quickly on weekends and during the autumn foliage season, so we recommend arriving early. Please set "Settsukyo (Settsukyo Park)" as your destination in your car navigation or map app.
  • taxi:Taking a taxi from Takatsuki Station is the easiest way to get there. The travel time will vary depending on traffic conditions and your starting point.
  • *Please check the latest information before visiting, as transportation and parking arrangements may change.

  • Short stroll: Approximately 1 hour (just enough time to take a quick look around the main spots in the gorge)
  • Leisurely stroll and picnic: 2-3 hours (including breaks and photography)
