Naegi Castle Ruins is a historic mountain castle located in Naegi, Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture. Believed to have been built during the Sengoku period, it features steep cliffs and stone walls clinging to the valley, giving it the feel of a "castle towering atop a mountain." While the castle's original keep no longer exists, many remains remain, revealing the original structure, including earthworks, stone walls, tower bases, and the layout of the kuruwa. From the restored walkways and observation deck, visitors can enjoy views of the Kiso River (and the nearby valley) and mountain ranges below. The landscape, where history and nature blend together, is particularly beautiful during the cherry blossom season in spring and the autumn foliage season, making it a popular destination not only for castle enthusiasts but also for landscape photographers.

- Nearest station: Nakatsugawa Station on the JR Chuo Main Line (in Nakatsugawa City). From the station, it is common to take a bus, taxi, or rental car.
- Buses and Routes: Tourist buses and local buses may operate from Nakatsugawa Station and the surrounding area during the tourist season and on weekends. For the latest timetables, please check the city's tourist information center or the bus company's website.
- Taxi: Approximately 20 minutes from the station (depending on traffic conditions).
- By car: Approximately 20 to 30 minutes from the Nakatsugawa IC on the Chuo Expressway via national and prefectural roads (parking available. Please note that the number of spaces is limited and the lot may be full during peak hours).
- Walking: You will need to climb slopes and stairs from the parking lot and the nearest bus stop. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

- Ena Gorge: A scenic spot known for its beautiful valley and sightseeing boats (about 30 minutes by car).

- Watch your step: The castle ruins have slopes, stairs, and unpaved areas. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. Be especially careful in rainy weather and winter as the trails can be slippery.
- Crowds: It gets crowded during cherry blossom season, autumn foliage season, Golden Week, etc. Parking lots tend to fill up quickly, so we recommend taking public transportation or arriving early.
