The MOA Museum of Art is located on a hill in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is known for its location overlooking Sagami Bay and its collection centered on Eastern and Japanese art. Founded by Okada Mokichi (or related organizations) as part of a cultural promotion initiative, the museum aims to preserve, research, and exhibit artworks. In addition to exhibition rooms, the museum also features a garden, tea room, and observation space, making it an appealing visitor experience that combines the natural scenery with art appreciation.

- Nearest station: Atami Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line and Tokaido Shinkansen *Atami Station is the nearest central station.
- Buses and shuttles: Buses and shuttles to the museum may operate from Atami Station. Please check the official website or station information in advance for details of the bus schedule and departure and arrival locations.
- Taxi: It takes about 10 minutes by taxi from Atami Station (depending on road conditions). The museum is located on a hill, so walking involves many slopes and stairs, so you will need to be physically fit and have ample time.
- Walking: Although it is possible to walk from Atami Station, there are steep uphill slopes and stairs, and the walk may take 30 to 40 minutes or more depending on your physical condition and route.
- By car: There may be parking available, but the number of spaces is limited and it may be full during busy times. We recommend checking the availability and fees of parking in advance.
Estimated stay (estimated time required)
- Short visit: Approximately 60-90 minutes including highlights of the exhibits and the gardens/views.
- Take your time to appreciate the exhibits: If you take your time to look around the gardens and teahouses, including the permanent and special exhibitions, it will take about 2 to 3 hours.
- Plan with plenty of time: If you include exploring the surrounding area and visiting cafes, it's a good idea to allow about half a day (3-4 hours).

- Crowds: The museum tends to be crowded on weekends, holidays, Golden Week, and during the summer tourist season. If you want to enjoy the exhibits in a more relaxed atmosphere, we recommend visiting on a weekday or right after opening.
- Photography: Photography is prohibited in many areas of the museum. Whether photography is permitted in exhibition rooms varies by exhibit, so please check the entrance or notices posted there.
- Clothing and footwear: It is convenient to wear clothing that can withstand the air conditioning and heating inside the museum, as well as the steep slopes and weather changes in the gardens. The gardens can become slippery after rain, so we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
- Barrier-free: Although there are elevators and other facilities, there may be steps or slopes due to the terrain of the site. Please check with the facility in advance if you will be using a wheelchair or stroller.
- Estimated travel time: Some exhibits may take longer than expected. Please plan extra time for tours and transportation.
- Manners inside the museum: Please observe general museum etiquette, such as not touching the artwork, not shouting, and putting your cell phone on silent mode.
