For Tomioka Silk Mill, the standard route is Tokyo to Takasaki by shinkansen or JR line, then the Joshin Dentetsu Line to Joshu-Tomioka Station. Gunma's official tourist guide notes that Joshu-Tomioka Station is convenient for the mill, and the walk from the station to the mill takes around 10 minutes.

Most first-time visitors can treat Tomioka as a day trip. Stay overnight only if you are combining Tomioka with wider Gunma travel, such as Myogi, hot springs, or a slower car route.
