Overview (History, Features, and Attractions) The Great Camphor Tree of Gamou is a gigantic camphor tree located in the Gamou district of Aira City, Kagoshima Prefecture, within the grounds of Gamou Hachiman Shrine. It is estimated to be between 1,000 and 1,500 years old, with a trunk circumference of approximately 20 to 25 meters and a height of around 20 meters.
