Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins (Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture) Overview (History, Features, and Attractions) The Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins is an archaeological site containing the remains of the mansion and castle town of the Asakura clan, who ruled Echizen (present-day Fukui Prefecture) during the Sengoku period. Excavations have revealed town houses, samurai residences, temples, gardens, roads, and other structures from that time, revealing the origins of the area.
