Overview (History, Features, and Attractions) Mount Kitadake is a 3,193m-high mountain located in Minami-Alps City, Yamanashi Prefecture. It is the second highest free-standing peak in Japan after Mount Fuji. As the main peak of the Southern Alps (Southern Alps National Park), it is known for its rugged ridgelines, vast alpine belt, and abundant alpine flora.
