Saitobaru Burial Mounds (Saito City, Miyazaki Prefecture)
Overview (History, Features, and Attractions) The Saitobaru Kofun Cluster is a group of ancient tombs spread across Saito City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It is one of Japan's most prominent landscapes of ancient tombs, with a wide variety of sizes built during the Kofun period (3rd to 7th centuries). There are approximately 300 tombs (although the total number is generally believed to be 311).
