Amaharashi Coast is a scenic coastal area along the Sea of Japan in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. It is characterized by the view of rocks floating offshore and the Tateyama mountain range seen across the sea, and its greatest attraction is the "mountain range across the sea," where on clear days the snow-capped Tateyama mountain range can be clearly seen across the water. A favorite spot for locals since ancient times, it is also popular with photography enthusiasts and tourists, as the spectacular views can be easily enjoyed from the station, coastal roads, observation decks, and more.

- Walking trails and coastline: There are places where you can walk along the coast and enjoy the scenery while feeling the sea breeze. There are also places where you can get close to the shoreline, but be careful of the tide and waves.
- Possibility of observing miragesIf the conditions are right, mirages can be seen from spring to early summer. Their occurrence depends on weather conditions and is difficult to predict, but if you can see one, it is a rare sight.
Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Nearest station: Amaharashi Station (Note: The station name is "Amaharashi Station." Please check the local timetable and operation information for the route.) From the station, it is just a few minutes' walk to the coast and scenic spots.
- By train: You can access the area from Toyama or Takaoka by local train. You may need to transfer at Takaoka Station, so please check the timetable or the operating company's website before setting off.
- By car: Accessible via the Hokuriku Expressway and national highways. There are parking spaces and small parking lots near the coast, but the number of spaces is limited, so we recommend arriving early during peak season.
- Buses and taxis: It is also convenient to use local buses and taxis from Takaoka and Himi. Timetables and frequency of service vary depending on the season and day of the week, so please check in advance.

- Takaoka Castle Park (Takaoka): This park is perfect for strolling and is especially beautiful during cherry blossom season.
- Towards Himi: A port town where you can enjoy fresh seafood. Himi fishing port, markets, and gourmet spots are plentiful.

- congestion: It gets crowded on weekends, holidays, and during the evening hours. The photo spots in particular can get cramped with tripods and crowds of people, so please be considerate of others.
- Photography etiquette and safety: Do not enter the tracks or restricted areas. Even when waiting for a train to arrive and taking photos, safety is your top priority. When using a tripod, please be mindful not to obstruct traffic.
- Beach safety: On days with high waves or at high tide, rocky areas and the water's edge are dangerous. Be careful not to fall or be swept away by the waves.
- Parking and Facilities: Parking spaces may be limited. There may be times when there are few restrooms or restaurants in the area, so it's a good idea to prepare any necessary items in advance.
- Seasonal precautionsIn winter, the sea breeze and low temperatures can make the temperature feel lower. Some areas can be slippery, so be sure to take measures to protect yourself from the cold and slip-resistant clothing. While mirages may occur from spring to early summer, be aware of the changeable weather.
