Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)

Choshi Electric Railway (Choshi Electric Railroad) is a local private railway that runs through Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. It is a historic line that opened in the Taisho period, and operates a short route of approximately 6km from Choshi Station (JR) to Tokawa Station. Its retro carriages, rustic station buildings, and coastal scenery make it a popular tourist route for local residents and tourists alike. From a management perspective, the company's popularity is also due to its attitude of working hand in hand with the local community, which has attracted attention for its unique product development, such as its nure senbei rice crackers, a local specialty.
