Kikuchi Valley is a valley in Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and is a natural scenic spot with a beautiful landscape of clear mountain streams, large and small waterfalls, and deep forests. Characterized by its topography formed by volcanic activity and years of erosion, and its crystal clear water, it has long been beloved by locals. The valley is lined with walking paths and wooden bridges, and is popular for its easy access to seasonal scenery (fresh greenery, clear streams, autumn leaves, and snowscapes).

- Clear streams and pools: The clear water surface, which appears cobalt blue and emerald green, makes for great photos.

- Public transportation: The nearest major station is Kumamoto Station (JR). From Kumamoto Station, take a local bus or express bus to the center of Kikuchi City, then take a local bus or taxi to the entrance to Kikuchi Valley. The estimated travel time, including transfers, is approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- By car: From the center of Kumamoto City, it takes about 40 to 60 minutes by car via national and prefectural roads (depending on traffic conditions). It is also accessible from the Kyushu Expressway interchange, so it is most convenient to get there by car.
- Parking: There are paid and free parking lots near the entrance to the valley, but the number of spaces is limited, so we recommend arriving early, especially during the autumn foliage season and on weekends.

- Local restaurants and roadside stations: Enjoy seasonal ingredients and local cuisine.

- Crowds: The park can be crowded, especially during autumn foliage season and on weekends, and parking lots may fill up. We recommend leaving early and using public transportation or shuttles.
- Weather and safety: Do not enter during heavy rain or typhoons due to the risk of flooding and landslides. In winter, some areas may become slippery due to freezing or snow accumulation.
- Clothing and equipment: Please bring comfortable walking shoes (trekking shoes or sneakers), warm clothing, rain gear, and drinks. The footing may be wet and slippery in some places.
