Hanamiyama is a small hill in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture, known as one of the city's most famous flower spots. Originally a privately owned orchard and garden, it was gradually developed into a popular tourist spot for locals. From early spring to spring, a variety of flowers, including cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, peaches, rape blossoms, azaleas, and magnolias, bloom one after another, turning the entire mountain into a vibrant patchwork of colors, creating a truly captivating sight. From the summit and slopes, you can enjoy panoramic views of Fukushima city and the surrounding mountains, making for a beautiful landscape perfect for photography and strolling.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Nearest station: JR Fukushima Station (JR Tohoku Main Line, Tohoku Shinkansen, etc.)
- Public Transportation: During the usual flower season, special shuttle buses and local buses often run from JR Fukushima Station (East Exit) to Hanamiyama. The journey time is approximately 15 to 25 minutes (depending on traffic conditions).
- Taxi: Approximately 10-20 minutes from Fukushima Station (depending on road conditions).
- By car: Approximately 10 to 20 minutes from the center of Fukushima City. Parking is limited during cherry blossom viewing season, and you will often be asked to use temporary parking lots and shuttles, so please follow local transportation instructions.
- Walking: It takes about 40 minutes to an hour to walk from Fukushima Station (depending on your stamina and the route you take).

- Iizaka Onsen: A hot spring town in Fukushima City. It can be accessed by car from Hanamiyama in about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art, Fukushima History Museum, etc.: These cultural facilities within the city are perfect for visiting in between sightseeing.
- Fukushima City Center: There are many restaurants and souvenir shops, making it a convenient place to eat or rest after cherry blossom viewing.
Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Crowds: The park is extremely crowded during the peak spring viewing period. On weekends and during peak times, you may have to wait for long periods for parking and shuttles, so we recommend visiting early in the morning or on a weekday.
- Parking and traffic restrictions: Temporary parking lots and traffic restrictions may be implemented during peak times. Please follow the instructions of on-site signs and staff.
- Manners: Please observe basic manners, such as not damaging flowers and plants, not entering restricted areas, and always taking your trash with you. Many areas are adjacent to private property, so trespassing on private property without permission is strictly prohibited.
- Clothing and Preparation: Wear comfortable shoes as there are many undulating walking paths. Be careful as the trails can get muddy after rain. Don't forget to bring sunscreen and drinks.
