Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Odaiba's Statue of Liberty is a replica of the Statue of Liberty in New York, a photogenic monument that stands with Tokyo Bay and the Rainbow Bridge in the background. It was originally installed temporarily for cultural exchange events with France in the late 1990s, and has since become a popular attraction among visitors, becoming an iconic spot in Odaiba. While it is smaller than the original (New York) large statue, its greatest appeal is that it allows visitors to enjoy both the ocean and cityscape at the same time. It is lit up after sunset, making it a popular spot for photography both day and night.
