Mount Tsukuba (Tsukuba-san) is a twin-peaked mountain with an elevation of approximately 877m (Mount Nyotai) and 871m (Mount Nantai) in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It is a sacred mountain that has been an object of worship since ancient times. It has a long history of mountain worship, typified by Mount Tsukuba Shrine, and with the approach to the mountain, shrines, and stone steps remaining near the summit, it has a unique atmosphere where tourism and faith blend together. Each season has its own charm, including the panoramic view of the Kanto Plain, the azaleas (Tsutsujigaoka) in spring, the autumn leaves, and the distant views of Mount Fuji and the Tokyo area on clear days. Other sightseeing attractions include the famous "Gama no Aburauri Kotoage" (Gama Oil Seller's Speech), souvenirs, and local cuisine.

- Train + BusGet off at Tsukuba Station on the Tsukuba Express, then take the Kanto Railway or Tsukuba Shuttle Bus from Tsukuba Center (bus terminal) towards Tsukuba-san Shrine Entrance or Tsutsujigaoka. The journey takes about 40-50 minutes by bus.
- Using JR: You can also take a Kanto Railway bus from Tsuchiura Station on the JR Joban Line (travel time varies depending on the route).
- carFrom the Tokyo metropolitan area, it takes about 1 to 1.5 hours via the Joban Expressway or the Ken-O Expressway (this may vary depending on the interchange and traffic conditions). There are several parking lots around the base of the mountain and Tsutsujigaoka, but they may fill up during peak hours.
- Travel to the trailhead: You can take a cable car or ropeway from the base of the mountain to the Miyukigahara area in a short time, or you can also walk up from the entrance to each hiking trail.

- congestion: Weekends and holidays, especially in the spring azalea season, autumn foliage season, and Golden Week, are extremely busy. Please allow yourself plenty of time as you may have to wait for long periods of time for the cable car/ropeway and in the parking lot.
- Clothing and equipment: The weather changes quickly near the summit, and the temperature is often lower than at the base. Please bring comfortable shoes, warm clothing, and rain gear. The hiking trail has steep and slippery sections.
- Safety measures：In rainy weather and in winter, the trail can become slippery due to freezing. If there is snow or ice, you may need light crampons. Be sure to check in advance that you have food, drinks, maps, and a charged phone.
- Nature and Manners：Please observe general mountain climbing etiquette, such as always taking your trash with you, not harming plants or animals, and not shouting. Please refrain from using fires anywhere other than designated areas.
