## Overview (history, features, appeal)
The Genichiro Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (IMA), located in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, is a museum that showcases the works of painter Genichiro Inokuma (1902–1993) and contemporary art. After his time working in Paris, Inokuma incorporated modernism while leaving behind a diverse body of work that combined a Japanese sense of color and humor. The museum's main feature is that it centers around Inokuma's collection, allowing visitors to trace the artist's creative process and the evolution of his expression through his paintings, drawings, prints, studies, and illustrations.

In addition to its permanent collection, the museum regularly holds special exhibitions and contemporary art exhibitions in collaboration with the local community. It also offers family-friendly workshops, gallery talks, a museum shop, and a café, making it popular with both locals and tourists. The building itself provides a calm and inviting exhibition space, and its well-designed layout, with careful consideration given to lighting and traffic flow, is another attractive feature.

## Highlights
