Matsusaka Castle is a castle ruin in Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture, dating back to a castle built at the end of the Sengoku period. It is deeply connected to the development of the castle town of Matsusaka, and is characterized by the remaining remains of stone walls, moats, and enclosures. During the Edo period, it served as the domain's administrative headquarters, and was abandoned after the Meiji Restoration. Today, it has been developed as the Matsusaka Castle Ruins (Joyama Park), and is popular with locals and tourists as a famous spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, as well as for strolling and viewing historical sites. The castle ruins offer views of the city and surrounding area, and the appeal is that you can enjoy the changing seasons of nature while immersing yourself in history.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Train: Get off at JR or Kintetsu Matsusaka Station. You can walk towards Shiroyama from the station, but please allow 20-30 minutes for the walk as it is an uphill climb.
- Bus: Take the Matsusaka City Loop Bus or a local bus and get off at a nearby bus stop such as "Matsusaka Castle Ruins" (check the route and number of buses in advance).
- Taxi: Approximately 5 to 10 minutes (approximately from the station).
- By car: Approximately 10-20 minutes from Matsusaka Interchange on the Ise Expressway (depending on road conditions). Parking is available around Shiroyama Park, but the number of spaces is limited, so we recommend arriving early during peak seasons.
