Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Tokyo Racecourse (located in Fuchu, Tokyo) is one of Japan's leading racecourses, managed by the Japan Racing Association (JRA), which manages Japan Racing Association. It has a long history and is known as the venue for major races in Japan (such as the Japanese Derby, the Autumn Tenno Sho, the Japan Cup, and the Yasuda Kinen). It features a wide turf course and a dirt course, and an extremely long straight line at approximately 525 meters before the finish line. This long straight line gives horses coming from behind a chance to catch up, making the race even more exciting to watch.
In recent years, the stadium has undergone extensive renovations and maintenance, and now boasts a full range of facilities for spectators, including large indoor and outdoor screens, comfortable seating, a family-friendly area, and dining facilities. In addition to watching the races, the facility also offers a comprehensive range of horse racing culture experiences, including the opportunity to see the horses up close in the paddock and to tour the horse racing museum.
