Lake Motosu (Fujikawaguchiko Town, Yamanashi Prefecture)
Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Lake Motosuko is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and is located in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture. It is one of the lakes formed by the volcanic activity and topographical changes of Mount Fuji, and its crystal clear blue water and the view of Mount Fuji from the lakeside are its major attractions. The lake's tranquility and the surrounding natural environment have been well preserved, making it a popular spot for photographers and outdoor enthusiasts. In recent years, the popularity of anime and camping has led to an increase in visits from younger generations.

- Crowds: Parking lots and campgrounds tend to be crowded during Golden Week, the summer beach season, consecutive holidays, and the autumn foliage season. We recommend arriving early and making reservations.
- Safety: Swimming and boating on the lake is at your own risk. There are many areas where swimming is prohibited and no rescue service is available, so please wear a life jacket and check the weather and water temperature.
- Manners: To protect the environment, please be considerate of those around you by always taking your trash with you, not making bonfires in areas where open fires are prohibited, and keeping noise to a minimum.

In summer, the sun is strong, so you will need to take measures against UV rays and insect repellent. There is a large temperature difference between morning and evening, so be sure to dress appropriately.
- Mobile phones and equipment: Mobile phone signals are weak in some areas along the lake, and there are limited shops and toilets. It is a good idea to prepare food, drinks, and emergency supplies in advance.
- Check rules and information: Camping, boat rentals, diving, etc. may require advance reservations or permission. Please check the official website or management office for the latest business information and rules.
