Haraizawa Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in Hinohara Village, Nishitama District, Tokyo. The mountain stream flows beautifully over the rocks in multiple tiers, and the area is surrounded by deep forest, making it popular as a "hidden place near the city." The waterfall falls in several tiers, and its appearance changes with the seasons. The fresh greenery, autumn leaves, snowy scenery, and icicles seen in winter are particularly attractive, making it a favorite among photography enthusiasts and hikers.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Train + Bus: Get off at Musashi-Itsukaichi Station on the JR Itsukaichi Line. From the station, take the Nishitokyo Bus (bound for Hossawa-no-Taki Iriguchi) and get off at the last stop or at Hossawa-no-Taki Iriguchi (approximately 30-40 minutes). Buses run infrequently, so be sure to check the timetable in advance.
- By car: From the city center, it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours via the Chuo Expressway and Ken-O Expressway (depending on traffic conditions). There is a parking lot near the waterfall, but the number of spaces is limited and it gets crowded on weekends and holidays.
- Walking: From the bus stop (Hossawa Falls Entrance) to the waterfall, it's about a 10-20 minute walk along the well-maintained footpath. There are slopes and stairs, so it's best to wear comfortable walking shoes.

- Viewing the waterfall only: Approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, including the round trip walk.
- Walking around and stopping by nearby cafes and shops: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Hiking in the area and touring multiple spots (half to full day): If you combine hiking in the area with hiking in Mt. Mito or Akigawa Valley, you can make a half to full day course.

- Hinode Village's rural mountain scenery and local facilities: The village is dotted with local museums, local direct sales outlets, and restaurants, which you can stop by after viewing the waterfall.
- Okutama area (Lake Okutama, etc.): You can also visit tourist spots in Okutama by car.
Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Traffic and Crowds: The number of visitors increases on weekends, holidays, and during the autumn foliage season, so parking lots and buses can become crowded. If you are using public transportation, we recommend checking the bus timetable in advance, and if you are driving, we recommend arriving early.
- Safety precautions: The walking paths are well maintained, but they can be slippery in rainy weather and winter. Be sure to wear non-slip shoes and bring warm, waterproof gear.
- Winter ice: It's a spectacular sight, but please do not get too close to the falls due to the risk of ice and falling rocks. It is dangerous to stand on the ice.
- Nature Conservation and Manners: Please be sure to take your trash with you, and refrain from using fires or collecting plants outside of designated areas. Please be considerate of wild animals and vegetation.
- Drones and other equipment: Flying drones without permission is often prohibited, so please refrain from using them or check beforehand.
- Insect protection: Insects (such as ticks) and mosquitoes may appear in the summer. We recommend wearing long sleeves and insect repellent.
- Facility and store opening hours: Nearby stores and restrooms may be closed depending on the season and day of the week. Please check in advance, especially early in the morning or during winter.
