Oya Museum is an indoor museum located in Oyacho, Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, utilizing the former Oya stone quarry. The underground space (quarry site) where Oya stone was once actively mined has been preserved and opened to the public, allowing visitors to see the huge underground space, the impressive cuttings, exhibits related to the stone, and the history of mining up close. The underground space is impressive in both height and size, and its unique atmosphere is a major attraction, as it maintains a stable low temperature and high humidity environment throughout the year, making it a popular location for movies, concerts, and photo shoots.
