Ryoanji Temple has been a Zen temple since the Muromachi period and is part of the World Heritage Site "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto." Take the city bus from Kyoto Station for about 30-40 minutes and get off at Ryoanji-mae bus stop. It is about a 5-minute walk from Ryoanji Station on the Randen (Keifuku Electric Railway). An admission fee is required.
