[Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)]
Yoro Falls (Yoro Town, Yoro District, Gifu Prefecture) is one of Japan's most famous waterfalls, and its stunning scenery, surrounded by greenery, is captivating. The name comes from the legend of "Nurturing Old Age (Yoro)," and a folktale has it that a spring connected to a story of filial piety became the source of rejuvenating water. A popular scenic spot since ancient times, the beautiful scenery, mythical backdrop, and seasonal changes (fresh greenery, autumn leaves, snowscapes) attract tourists. The surrounding area is also home to parks, approaching paths, restaurants, and souvenir shops, making it a base for hiking and historical walks.
