Aoyama Cemetery is a large public cemetery located in Minato Ward, Tokyo, and is a historic cemetery established during the Meiji period. Despite being located in the heart of the city, it boasts spacious green spaces and a tranquil stone-paved approach to the cemetery, and is known for being home to the graves of many famous people from the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods. In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom in full bloom, making it one of Tokyo's top flower-viewing spots, attracting many visitors, while the tranquil atmosphere also makes it an appealing place to stroll around.

- Cherry Blossom Trees: The cherry blossoms in the park create a spectacular sight in spring, making it a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing. During busy times, people tend to view the cherry blossoms along the walking paths.
- Nature in all four seasons: Not only cherry blossoms, but also the greenery of early summer and the autumn leaves change with the seasons, making it a great place for photography or a quiet stroll.
- Stonework and historical atmosphere: There are many old gravestones and stone towers, creating a landscape that evokes the history of modern Japan.
Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- About a 5-10 minute walk from Gaienmae Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line (close to the southwest entrance).
- Approximately 7 to 12 minutes on foot from Aoyama-itchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, Toei Oedo Line, and other lines (easy access from the southeast side).
- About a 10-15 minute walk from Nogizaka Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line (route from the east side).
- Bus: As various metropolitan bus routes pass through the area, it is possible to walk from the nearest bus stop. Taking a taxi is also convenient.
- Parking: Public parking for tourists is limited on the premises, so coming by car can be inconvenient during busy times. We recommend using public transportation.

- Short visit: 30 minutes to 1 hour (if visiting only specific graves or cherry blossom spots).
- A leisurely stroll: 1-2 hours (if you want to look for the graves of famous people and walk around the garden).
- Cherry blossom season: To avoid crowds and enjoy cherry blossom viewing, it is best to allow at least 1-2 hours.

- Meiji Jingu Gaien (Ginkgo trees, Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium, etc.) — A great area for strolling and watching sports.
- Omotesando/Aoyama area (shopping, cafes, galleries) — within walking distance or a short ride from the cemetery.
- Nezu Museum (Minami-Aoyama) — A museum that houses masterpieces of Japanese and Oriental art.
- Around the National Stadium - This is a place that many people visit during large-scale events.
Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Be considerate: This is a cemetery. Please refrain from shouting, making noise, or drinking alcohol, and be considerate of the bereaved family and other visitors. Standing on gravestones and trampling on flower beds are strictly prohibited.
- Photography: General landscape photography is fine, but please be careful not to take photos of private graves or worshippers without permission.
- Crowds: The area is extremely crowded during the cherry blossom season (usually from late March to early April). Traffic may be restricted, and the nearest station and surrounding roads may be congested. If you want to avoid the crowds, we recommend visiting on a weekday morning.
- Clothing and walking comfort: The park has some uneven areas and stone steps. Wear comfortable shoes and be careful as the grounds can be slippery in rainy weather.
- Closing times: Due to cemetery management, there may be designated entrance times (generally from early morning until sunset). Please be careful not to stay for long periods of time or enter at night.
