Located on the hills of Hase in Kamakura, Hasedera Temple is an ancient temple known for its long, sloping streets and beautiful gardens. The principal image is a wooden eleven-faced Kannon statue about 9 meters tall, and you can see Yuigahama and Enoshima from the walking paths and observation deck within the temple grounds. It is a tourist attraction, with seasonal plantings adding color to the area.

It's about a 3-5 minute walk from Hase Station on the Enoshima Electric Railway. It's about a 10 minute ride from Kamakura Station by Enoshima Electric Railway or bus. Traffic restrictions and congestion are likely to occur in the surrounding area.

Points to note

The temple is very crowded during hydrangea season and on weekends. There are many stairs and slopes within the temple grounds, and they can be slippery on rainy days, so please be careful when walking. Please also observe the restrictions on photography inside the temple and proper worship etiquette.
