Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Suzuka Circuit is an international-standard comprehensive motorsports facility located in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture. It was opened in 1962 by the founders of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The circuit features a figure-eight (multi-level intersection), a rare sight in the world, and is known for hosting international races such as the F1 Japanese Grand Prix and the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race (EWC). In addition to a full-scale course with pits and spectator seating, the complex also features a family-friendly amusement park called Motopia, kart racing, racing experiences, a hotel, and hot springs, making it a leisure complex that can be enjoyed by motorsports fans and families alike.
Highlights
- Course layout: With a 130R curve, spoon curves, hairpin turns, and other challenging sections, you can see some of the most dynamic racing in the world. The figure-eight overpass makes for a great photo opportunity.
- Watching races: A variety of races, including the F1 Japanese Grand Prix (when held), Super Formula, Super GT, and the Suzuka 8 Hours. Fan events such as pit walks and grid walks are also attractive.
- Motopia (Amusement Park): Children's attractions, go-karts, a Ferris wheel, character shows, etc. Families can enjoy half a day to a full day.
- Racing/driving experience: Rental karts, riding with a professional driver, and simulated driving are available in the circuit experience program (age and height restrictions apply).
- Facilities: Circuit hotel, hot springs, large public baths, restaurants, shops (official merchandise), etc., making it comfortable for long stays.

- Suzuka Circuit Ino Station (Ise Railway, Suzuka Circuit Ino Station) - The nearest station. Accessible from the station on foot or by shuttle bus (the shuttle service increases during events).
- Kintetsu Hiratamachi Station (Kintetsu Nagoya Line) - Special shuttle buses often run from Hiratamachi Station, making it convenient. Please check the official website in advance for operating information.

- From Nagoya: Approximately 1 hour (depending on traffic conditions)
- From Osaka: Approximately 2 hours (using the expressway)
- Paid parking is available within and around the facility. Parking spaces fill up quickly during races and large events, so we recommend using public transportation and arriving early.
- Expressway buses and tour buses: Direct tours from major cities and special buses may operate during events. Please check official information.
Estimated stay (estimated time required)
- Race viewing (single-day event): All day (morning to evening) - duration varies depending on the type of race and support events.
- Motopia + light viewing/experience: half a day to a full day (3 to 6 hours)
- Circuit experience + amusement park + accommodation: 2 days and 1 night - If you stay at the circuit hotel, you can relax in the mornings and evenings.

- Suzuka Forest Garden (approximately 20 minutes by car) – Famous for its seasonal flowers, especially hydrangeas.
- Kameyama Castle Ruins (approximately 30 minutes by car) - A historical walking spot.
- Ise/Toba area (approximately 1 hour by car) - You can also travel to Mie Prefecture's most famous tourist spots, such as Ise Grand Shrine and Toba Aquarium.
Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Crowds: Large-scale events like the F1 and the Suzuka 8 Hours can be extremely crowded. Be sure to purchase tickets, parking, and accommodation early. There are often long lines at restaurants and restrooms.
- Tickets/Entry/Exit: Please check official announcements as re-entry and restrictions on what can be brought into the venue may vary depending on the event.
- Noise: There are loud noises on the circuit. If you have small children or sensitive ears, please bring earplugs.
- Safety and Clothing: Each viewing area and experience program has its own rules for clothing and equipment. Kart and riding experiences often require long sleeves, long pants, and sneakers.
- Crime prevention and belonging management: Be careful of your belongings when it is crowded. Keep valuables to a minimum.
- Weather: As many of the facilities are outdoors, please bring rain gear, sun protection, and heat protection (high temperatures in summer). The schedule may be changed or the tour may be canceled due to bad weather.
- Bringing drones, etc.: Flying drones without permission above the venue is often prohibited. Please check the rules in advance.
- Accessible: Wheelchair-accessible seating and toilets are available, but during events, it may be crowded and take time to move around. We recommend inquiring in advance.
