Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Do not step on or touch the coral: Coral is a fragile and important part of the ecosystem. Be careful not to touch the coral with your flippers or while treading water.
- Use eco-friendly sunscreen: Use reef-safe sunscreens that do not contain ingredients that damage corals.
- Lifeguard availability: There may not always be a lifeguard on duty. If you are traveling with children or are not confident in your swimming skills, we recommend wearing a life jacket or being accompanied by a guide.
- Changes in sea conditions: Sea conditions can suddenly worsen due to tides and wind. Check the weather and sea conditions before setting sail and do not push yourself too hard.
- Busy times: It gets crowded during the summer high season (especially July and August). Early morning hours are less crowded.
- Typhoon season: June to October is a typhoon season. Please check weather information before traveling.
- Garbage and Manners: Please take your own trash home with you and be mindful of preserving the natural environment.
- Equipment: It's a good idea to bring marine shoes, a rash guard, some basic first aid kit, and hydration supplies. You may be able to rent equipment or use a guide, but please check in advance.
(Note) The status of local facilities and transportation may change from season to season and year to year. We recommend checking the latest information (at tourist information centers, accommodations, marine shops, etc.) before visiting.
