Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Tachimachi Misaki is a small cape located at the southeastern tip of Hakodate City, Hokkaido, and is a scenic coastal spot jutting out into the Tsugaru Strait. Its proximity to the city center and easy access means it has long been popular with locals and tourists alike. From the tip of the cape, you can get a panoramic view of the ocean, and on clear days you can see the Tsugaru Peninsula and the silhouette of land on the opposite shore. It is also known as a famous spot for watching sunsets. There are walking paths and observation spaces around the cape, making it an attractive spot to stroll around and observe seabirds and seasonal flowers.

- Footing: There are unstable and slippery areas near the tip of the cape and cliffs. Please wear comfortable shoes and obey all fences and no-entry signs.
- Nature Conservation and Manners: Please take your trash with you and be considerate of plants and wildlife. If you have pets, please keep them under control so they do not cause a nuisance to those around you.
- Facilities and toilets: Facilities and toilets around the cape may be limited, so it is best to prepare in advance.
