Isonokami Shrine is an ancient shrine located in Tenri City, Nara Prefecture, and is one of the most prestigious shrines in existence since ancient times. The shrine grounds are surrounded by a quiet forest (Furu no Mori), and the long approach and ancient shrine grove remain. Since ancient times, the shrine has been closely associated with rituals related to weapons and military affairs, and it has the appeal of being a place that conveys ancient beliefs and culture. The calm atmosphere of the shrine grounds and the seasonal natural scenery (fresh greenery, autumn leaves, etc.) attract visitors.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Nearest station: If using public transportation, the most common way to get there is from JR or Kintetsu Tenri Station (from the station you can walk or take a taxi or bus).
- Walking: It takes approximately 20 minutes on foot from Tenri Station (this may vary depending on your walking pace and route).
- Taxi/Bus: Approximately 5 minutes by taxi from Tenri Station. There may also be local buses or community buses operating, so we recommend checking the timetable and route in advance.
- By car: Approximately 10 minutes from Tenri IC on the Nishi-Meihan Expressway (depending on road conditions). There may be parking available within the temple grounds, but as the number of spaces is limited, please consider using a nearby paid parking lot if it is crowded.

- Short tour: worship and strolling around the grounds takes about 30 to 45 minutes
- Enjoy a leisurely viewing: Approximately 1-2 hours including visiting the worship hall and main hall, strolling through the shrine grove, and visiting the treasure museum.

- Worship Manners: Shrines are places of faith. Please observe basic manners, such as being respectful in front of the worship hall, refraining from eating, drinking, and making noise within the grounds, and observing no-photography areas.
- Photography: Photography may be prohibited in some areas of the temple grounds or during religious ceremonies. Please follow the instructions of signs and staff.
- Busy times: The shrine tends to be crowded during New Year's visits, festivals, and autumn foliage season, and the parking lot may fill up and the approach to the shrine may become congested. Please allow plenty of time for your visit.
- Clothing and Walking: There may be stone steps and unpaved paths within the temple grounds. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Be careful as the grounds can be slippery in rainy weather.
- Seasonal precautions: Take precautions against insects (especially insect bites) in summer, and against the cold in winter. During pollen season, be careful of pollen flying around the temple grounds.
- Check public information: The schedule of the Treasure Museum, special viewings, festivals, viewing hours, and parking availability may change. We recommend checking official information or with the temple before visiting.
