Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Yanagawa River Cruise is a sightseeing boat tour that takes you on a traditional donko boat through the canals of Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The canals, which were built during the castle town era, flow right through the city, and the scenery of willow trees, old townhouses, and stone bridges reflected on the water is captivating. The boatman steers the boat with a pole, providing information about local history and sights, and sometimes even performing boat songs, allowing you to enjoy the picturesque scenery in all four seasons. This is a tourist destination that can also be visited to try the famous "steamed eel" and visit the Tachibana family mansion, "Ohana."

- Manners: The boat is narrow and swaying. Please be considerate of other passengers and the boatman by not standing or walking, following instructions when boarding and disembarking, and taking your trash with you. Please refrain from excessively interrupting the boatman's explanations or songs.
- Operation status: Operations may be changed or canceled depending on tide levels, bad weather, or river conditions. Please check the operation status on the official website or with the ferry operator before departure.
