Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Toei Kyoto Studio Park is a film theme park and film studio facility operated by Toei Company, Ltd., located in Uzumasa, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City. Since its opening in 1975, it has been open to the public filming sets for movies and TV dramas, mainly period dramas, and has attracted many tourists from both Japan and abroad with its recreations of Edo townscapes, action shows and ninja shows by actors, set tours, and behind-the-scenes tours. As it is adjacent to the actual filming locations, another major attraction is that if you're lucky, you may be able to see the filming scenes up close.
