Omaezaki Lighthouse (Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture) — Overview (History, Features, and Attractions)

Omaezaki Lighthouse stands at the tip of Omaezaki (Omaezaki), which juts out into the Enshu Nada Sea, and is an important navigational marker that watches over the safety of ships sailing across the Pacific Ocean. Its white tower-shaped form stands out against the seaside scenery, and the cape offers a nearly 360-degree view of the vast Pacific Ocean, making it a popular scenic spot. There are walking paths and observation spaces around the lighthouse, where you can enjoy strolling and taking photos while feeling the sea breeze. On clear days, Mount Fuji and the Izu Peninsula can sometimes be seen in the distance, and it is also known as a famous spot to watch the sunrise and sunset.
