Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)

Kishiwada Castle (Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture) is a castle that conveys the history of the Izumi and Senshu regions, and is attractive for its moats and stone walls remaining in the city center, as well as its grounds, which have been developed as a castle park. The castle has ancient origins and was developed as a castle from the Sengoku to Edo periods. The castle tower was later rebuilt in modern times, and it is now a popular venue for exhibiting historical documents and introducing the history of the region. The castle ruins are also a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, where you can enjoy seasonal scenery, from flower viewing in the spring to the autumn leaves in the fall. It is also known for its connection to traditional city events such as the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival.
