The Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum is a museum that presents an easy-to-understand display of the progress of Meiji Japan, focusing on the world of Ryotaro Shiba's novel "Saka no Ue no Kumo" and prominent figures from Matsuyama who were active during the Meiji period (Akiyama Yoshifuru, Akiyama Saneyuki, and Masaoka Shiki). Opened during the Heisei period, the museum is unique in that it recreates the setting and historical background of the novel through historical documents, videos, models, and interactive exhibits. It is a must-see for not only literature fans, but also those interested in history, military affairs, diplomacy, and the process of modernization. - The closest Iyotetsu (streetcar) stops are "Okaido" or "Kencho-mae" in the city center. The hotel is about a few minutes to 10 minutes' walk from the stops.
- From JR Matsuyama Station, it is about a 10-minute tram ride or a 10-minute taxi ride (depending on traffic conditions).
- It is easily accessible by tram from Matsuyama city center (Dogo Onsen), making it an easy place to stop by in between sightseeing.
