Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Alps Azumino National Government Park (Horigane/Hotaka area) is a national park developed around the theme of the beautiful nature and satoyama culture of the foothills of the Northern Alps. It is characterized by the opportunity to experience nature through Azumino's abundant water and greenery, a spacious lawn, flower fields that change with the seasons, and a satoyama landscape restoration zone. The park is popular with families, photography enthusiasts, and those who want to enjoy nature observation, as it offers children's play equipment, walking trails, bicycle rentals, a park center (information, exhibitions, and rest areas), and limited-time workshops.

Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Crowds: The number of visitors increases during spring (best time to see the flowers and Golden Week), summer vacation, and the autumn foliage season. On weekends, the parking lot may be full and you may have to wait to enter the park.
- Admission fees and business hours: Admission fees, opening hours, and parking availability and fees may vary depending on the area and season. Please check the official website for the latest information before visiting.
- Pets: Restrictions may apply in some areas. If you bring pets, please keep them on a leash and take their waste home with you.
- Climate and clothing: As the area is close to a plateau, there are days when the temperature difference between day and night is large. Please bring sunshade, cold weather gear, and rain gear. In summer, the sun is strong, so insect repellent is also necessary.
- Please respect nature conservation: Please follow the rules, such as not picking flowers or plants, refraining from feeding wild animals, and taking your trash home with you.
- Transportation: Public transportation may be infrequent, so it's a good idea to check the transportation options and timetables in advance.
