Sensuijima is a small island in the Seto Inland Sea in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is a tourist spot where you can enjoy the calm waters and beautiful scenery of its many islands. Legend has it that the island's name, "Sensui," comes from the meaning "an island so beautiful it makes a hermit drunk," and it has long been a place of worship and a sacred place. With many natural attractions, including a tranquil coastline, oddly shaped rocks and cliffs, walking paths overlooking the sea, and tidal pools, it is perfect for a day trip or a relaxing stay. The calm waters and beautiful sunsets unique to the Seto Inland Sea make it a popular destination for photography enthusiasts and those who enjoy hiking and swimming.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Nearest train station: The nearest major station is Onomichi Station on the JR Sanyo Main Line (this may vary depending on your departure point).
- From Onomichi Station to the seaside portFrom Onomichi Station, you can walk, take a bus, or take a taxi to Onomichi Port or the surrounding ferry terminal (approximately 10 to 20 minutes).
- Take a ferry to the island: Take a ferry, regular service, or sightseeing boat from the Onomichi side to Sensuijima. The journey time varies depending on the ferry and route, but for short routes it generally takes between a few minutes and 20 minutes. Timetables and fares change depending on the season, so be sure to check with the operating company or Onomichi City tourist information in advance.
- By car: There may be parking near the port on the mainland. Please check the port's parking information and ferry departure and arrival locations in advance.
- Points to note: There are times and seasons when there are fewer sailings, so we recommend checking the round-trip ferry times and planning your trip so you don't miss the last ferry.

- Onomichi city center: Enjoy a stroll through the hilly town, known for its old shopping district, temples and shrines, and as a filming location for movies.
- Shimanami Kaido (Cycling Route): A sea road that can be crossed by bicycle. You can access the starting area on the Onomichi side, and combining it with island hopping makes for a fulfilling sightseeing experience.
- Nearby islands: You can also travel to other small islands in the Seto Inland Sea (e.g. Mukojima, Innoshima, etc.). Each island has its own unique scenery and food culture.
- Port town food culture: Enjoy local cuisine made with fresh seafood and seaside restaurants.

- Check flight schedule: The number and times of ferry services vary depending on the season and day of the week. Be especially careful of the last return ferry. Please check the timetable in advance.

- Protection of the natural environment and etiquettePlease take care to protect the island's natural environment by always taking your trash with you, not picking plants or living creatures, and avoiding the use of fire in areas other than designated areas.
- Footing measuresWear non-slip shoes when walking on rocky areas or in tide pools. Be aware of the tides as the areas you can pass through change depending on the tide.
