Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
The Imabari Towel Museum (official name: Imabari Towel Museum ICHIHIRO; facility name may change depending on management) is a facility that showcases the history, techniques, and design of Imabari towels, the pride of Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. The museums clearly display the processes involved in towel manufacturing, from raw materials to weaving, dyeing and finishing, as well as the techniques of artisans and the origins of the brands, while also showcasing highly designed towel products and collaborative works. Many of the facilities also have experiential workshops, shops and cafes, making it a great attraction to be able to see, touch and buy.
