Chubu Centrair International Airport (commonly known as Centrair, IATA: NGO) is an international airport located on an artificial island constructed off the coast of Ise Bay in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. It opened in 2005 and functions as an international and domestic hub airport for the Chubu region (around Nagoya and Aichi Prefecture). It features many attractions for travelers, including a sophisticated passenger terminal, a spacious sky deck (observation deck), local restaurants and souvenir shops, and the Boeing 787-themed complex "FLIGHT OF DREAMS."

  • Sky Deck (observation deck): From the outdoor observation space, you can observe passenger planes taking off and landing up close. This is a popular spot for photography and airplane enthusiasts.
  • FLIGHT OF DREAMS: An interactive facility (shop, cafe, exhibits, etc.) centered around an actual Boeing 787. Recommended for aircraft enthusiasts and families.
  • Shopping & DiningThere are plenty of souvenir shops selling local specialties (such as uriwara, miso cutlets, and chicken wings) and airport-exclusive products, as well as restaurants and cafes with a strong local flavor.
  • Events and Seasonal Exhibitions: Special exhibitions, illuminations, air show-related events, etc. are held irregularly.
  • Nearby nature and seaside spots: There are seaside walking spots around the airport, such as Rinku Beach, where you can enjoy both plane and sea views.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)

  • Railway: Directly connected to Chubu Centrair International Airport Station on the Meitetsu Airport Line. Approximately 28 minutes by express train (such as μ-SKY) from Meitetsu Nagoya Station (travel time varies depending on the train type). The terminal and station are connected indoors.
  • busLimousine buses and express buses operate from Nagoya Station, Kanayama, Sakae, and other areas. Travel time varies depending on the destination (approximately 45-60 minutes from central Nagoya) and traffic conditions.
  • carAccess via the Isewangan Expressway or Chita Peninsula Road. Paid parking is available at the airport. Approximately 30-60 minutes from central Nagoya, depending on road conditions.
  • Taxis and ride-hailing servicesThere is a taxi stand at the airport terminal. If you have a late-night or early-morning flight, it is a good idea to make arrangements in advance.

  • Before transfers and departure: Aim to arrive 2-3 hours before departure for international flights and 1-2 hours before departure for domestic flights.

  • congestion: Terminals, observation decks, and restaurants will be crowded during long holidays (Golden Week, summer vacation, New Year's), before and after holidays, and peak international flight times. Please allow yourself plenty of time.
  • Use of the observation deck:As it is outdoors, be aware of the weather (strong winds, rain, midsummer heat, winter cold). It may be closed, so it is best to check the official information in advance.
