Shimoda Aquarium is located on the coast of Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Its appeal lies in its outdoor exhibits set against the backdrop of the white sandy sea and harbor, as well as performances by marine life such as dolphins and sea lions. It mainly exhibits creatures found in the coastal waters of the region, and is known as a facility where visitors can learn about marine ecosystems and conservation through observation and learning. Taking advantage of its location facing the sea, the aquarium is packed with interactive content, including a touch pool and hands-on programs, making it popular with families, couples, and ocean lovers.

- Directions from the station:The aquarium is quite far from Shimoda Station, so it may take about 20 to 30 minutes to walk there. It is more convenient to take a bus or taxi (estimated travel time: about 5 to 10 minutes by bus or taxi).
- Access by car:Take the Tomei Expressway, Odawara Atsugi Road, etc., then take the Izu Jukan Expressway and National Route 135 towards Shimoda. There is a parking lot near the aquarium, but it can get crowded during the busy summer season, so we recommend leaving early.
