Mishima Taisha Shrine is an ancient shrine located in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and has long been beloved as the local guardian deity enshrined in the center of the city. Founded long ago, the shrine's legend says it has attracted worshippers since ancient times, and it has a deep connection to the surrounding nature and spring waters. The shrine building has a dignified appearance, and the scenery of the approach and grounds, as well as the flowers and trees that bloom throughout the seasons (especially the cherry blossoms in spring, the azaleas in early summer, and the autumn leaves) are attractive. Local festivals and events are also popular, allowing you to experience the historical atmosphere that is connected to the lives of the local people.

- Main hall and worship hall: The shrine has a calm, traditional architecture. Please make sure to follow the correct etiquette when praying.
- The large torii gate and approachThe approach to the shrine from the station is easy to walk to, and you can do some shopping or stroll along the way. The shopping street along the approach also has a nice atmosphere.
- Chozuya (purification station): A place where you can purify yourself with water before praying. The amount of water and decorations change depending on the season.
- Seasonal scenery: The cherry blossoms in spring, the fresh greenery in early summer, and the autumn leaves are beautiful, making it a popular photo spot.

- WalkingFrom Mishima Station, it takes about 10 to 20 minutes to walk along the flat approach to the temple grounds (this may vary depending on your walking route and speed).
- Buses and taxis: A few minutes by bus or taxi from the south exit of Mishima Station. This is convenient if you have a lot of luggage or on bad weather days.
- Cars and parking: There are paid parking lots in the area, but they tend to get crowded during the shrine visiting season (New Year's visit and festivals), so we recommend using public transportation.

- congestion: The first shrine visit of the year (early January) is extremely crowded. If possible, try to visit at a different time or on a weekday morning so you can enjoy a more leisurely visit. Crowds are also expected during festivals and long holidays.
- Worship etiquette：When in front of the worship hall, please observe the proper etiquette of bowing once, bowing twice, clapping twice, and bowing once more, and pray quietly. Eating, drinking, and smoking within the temple grounds are permitted only in designated areas.
- photo shoot: Photography is permitted in many places within the temple grounds, but please avoid any actions that may interfere with worship or taking photos during religious ceremonies. Please follow the instructions of the shrine office or priests.
- Seasonal precautions: The approach and grounds can become slippery during the rainy season and when typhoons are approaching. In winter, take precautions against the cold. During the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons, the temple is crowded, and the parking lots and surrounding roads are also congested, so it is best to use public transportation.
