Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Legoland Japan Resort is a LEGO-themed family theme park located in the Kinjo Pier area of Minato Ward, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. It opened in 2017 and attracted attention as Japan's first LEGO theme park. Operated by Merlin Entertainments, it offers a variety of attractions that parents and children can enjoy, including a miniature cityscape recreated with LEGO blocks, rides for children, and workshops.
Its distinctive features include "Miniland," which uses Lego to recreate famous landmarks from around the world and Japan, a "Duplo Play Area" for infants and toddlers, interactive rides and shows, a shop selling official Lego merchandise, and child-friendly facilities (nursing rooms, stroller-accessible restrooms, etc.). The attractions are the elaborate Lego creations and the hands-on play experience that children can have.
