Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)

Tottori Flower Corridor (located in Nanbu-cho, Saihaku-gun, Tottori Prefecture) is a vast flower park where you can enjoy flowers of all seasons. Combining outdoor flower fields with greenhouses (dome-shaped and greenhouse displays), you can enjoy a variety of flowers and displays throughout the year, such as tulips and cherry blossoms in the spring, lavender and salvia in the summer, cosmos in the fall, and illuminations in the winter. The park also features a garden-like area, photo spots, seasonal events and workshops, cafes and shops, and is popular with a wide range of people, including families, couples and photography enthusiasts.

Highlights

  • Seasonal flower fields: Large-scale flower scenery in large flower beds (tulips, poppies, cosmos, dahlias, etc.).
  • Greenhouse exhibit: A greenhouse that constantly displays tropical plants and seasonal flowers. The appeal is that it can be enjoyed even on rainy days.
  • Rose Garden and Fragrance Garden: A zone themed around different varieties of roses and their fragrances, it is especially popular when the roses are in full bloom.
  • Photo spots: There are many places suitable for taking photos, such as the flower tunnel, flower sculptures, and observation points.
  • Events and illuminations: The atmosphere changes dramatically with the spring and autumn festivals and nighttime illuminations (winter illuminations).
  • Cafe/Shop: There is a facility where you can enjoy products and light meals related to local flowers.

Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)

  • Crowds: During the spring flower season, Golden Week, the rose viewing season, weekends, and public holidays, the park tends to be crowded, and you may have to wait for parking or to enter. We recommend leaving early or visiting on a weekday.
  • Manners: Entering flower beds and picking flowers is often prohibited. Please follow the instructions of the garden and be considerate to other visitors.
  • Weather and clothing: As the tour is mostly outdoors, please bring a hat and sun protection on sunny days, and an umbrella and waterproof shoes on rainy days. It can get very hot in the summer, so please be sure to drink plenty of water.
  • Barrier-free access/strollers: Most areas of the park are paved, but there are steps and slopes in some places. If you are using a wheelchair or stroller, please check the park's information in advance.
  • Pets: There are often restrictions on whether pets are allowed (not allowed in principle, service dogs allowed, etc.). If you plan to bring pets, we recommend checking in advance.
  • Allergies: If you are sensitive to pollen or insects, take measures according to the season. In particular, be careful of pollen and insects such as bees from spring to early summer.
