Nasu Animal Kingdom is an interactive zoo and petting park located in the Nasu Highlands in Tochigi Prefecture. Taking advantage of the nature-rich hills, the spacious grounds are characterized by exhibits and hands-on programs that emphasize closeness to the animals. Inside the zoo, you can interact with the animals in a nearly free-roaming environment, learn about their ecology and charm through explanations by animal care staff, feeding experiences, and stage programs such as bird shows. It's a place that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, and the seasonal events and special exhibits are also appealing.

- Interaction Area: A corner where you can get up close and personal with small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as capybaras, llamas, and kangaroos. You can also feed them directly (please follow safety rules).
- Bird and Animal Show: A show featuring trainers and birds and small animals. You can enjoy the animals' abilities and training through flying displays and tricks. Times vary depending on the day, so please check the schedule.
- Observation exhibitThe zoo has a wide variety of exhibits, including cats, canines, small mammals, seals, and penguins, and has well-designed observation points both indoors and outdoors.
- Experience Programs: There are often paid programs such as zookeeper experiences, feeding the animals, and commemorative photo shoots, and you may need to make a reservation in advance or check in on the day.
- Natural scenery and walksThere are walking trails and observation spots that take advantage of the scenery of the Nasu Highlands, so you can relax and enjoy the area even more than just observing animals.
Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Train + Bus: The nearest major stations are Nasushiobara Station and Kuroiso Station. Local buses and special shuttle buses may operate from the stations (please check the timetable before setting off as the number of buses and routes may change depending on the season).
- car: It is easily accessible from Nasu IC on the Tohoku Expressway, and there is a parking lot. The estimated travel time from Nasu IC is approximately 20 minutes, but this may vary depending on traffic conditions.
- Taxis and rental cars: Taking a taxi from Nasushiobara Station or any Shinkansen station is also convenient. Combining a rental car with sightseeing in the area makes travelling easier.

Things to be aware of (crowding, etiquette, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- congestion: The park is especially crowded on weekends, consecutive holidays, summer vacation, and during the tourist season. Popular interactive experiences and shows can fill up early, so we recommend arriving early or making a reservation in advance if possible.
- Animal Manners: Excessive contact with or chasing of animals is prohibited. Please be sure to follow the instructions and posted notices from staff, and be sure to wash and disinfect your hands thoroughly. Feeding animals with food brought in from the zoo is often prohibited, so please use designated food.
- Safety measuresPlease be mindful of small children, follow instructions within fenced areas, and act quietly so as not to startle the animals.
