Takekoma Shrine is a beloved shrine in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, that serves as the local guardian deity. It has long been a popular destination for locals, attracting many visitors for New Year's visits and various festivals. The tranquil appearance of the shrine building and approach, along with the charming scenery that changes with the seasons, make it a popular spot for worship, strolling, and collecting temple stamps. In addition to receiving amulets and temple stamps within the grounds, the shrine is also known for hosting many local and traditional events, allowing visitors to experience local culture.

- Approach and Great Torii Gate: The scenery of the quiet approach and the great torii gate is photogenic. The lighting in the morning and evening is also beautiful.

- Nearest station: Iwanuma Station on the JR Tohoku Main Line, Joban Line, etc. is the nearest major station. You can get there on foot or by bus from the station.
- By foot: It is within walking distance from Iwanuma Station, but the walking distance and time required will vary depending on the route, so please check the map in advance (approximately 15-30 minutes on foot).
- Bus/Taxi: It is convenient to take a local bus or taxi from Iwanuma Station. Please check the route and timetable in advance.
- By car: There may be parking spaces available for visitors, but they may fill up during busy times, so please consider using a nearby parking lot or taking public transportation.

Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Crowds: The shrine gets very crowded on New Year's visits and festival days. If you want to avoid the crowds, we recommend visiting on weekdays or early in the morning.
- Worship Manners: Please observe the proper etiquette for purifying yourself at the temizuya (purification fountain), worshiping (two bows, two claps, one bow, etc.), and worship quietly. Please be considerate in areas where photography is prohibited and during prayers.
- Goshuin/Shrine office: The shrine office may have limited opening hours. If you would like to receive a goshuin, please check the opening hours in advance.
- Seasonal precautions: In winter, be careful of frozen roads and snow. In summer, don't forget to take measures against the heat (use a parasol and stay hydrated). In coastal areas and Miyagi Prefecture, it's also important to check warnings about natural disasters such as tsunamis.
- Consideration for the surrounding environment: Please be considerate of the local community and other worshippers by taking your trash with you, not shouting within the shrine grounds, and refraining from eating or drinking within the sacred grounds.
