Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)

Shibuya Hikarie is a commercial and office complex operated by the Tokyu Corporation Group, which opened in 2012. Taking advantage of its location directly connected to Shibuya Station, it features a wide range of functions, including fashion, general merchandise, cosmetics, gourmet food, event space, and offices. The mall places emphasis on design and seasonal events, and is known as a hub for business, shopping, art, and culture. The entire building is a space that combines "Shibuya-ness" and "high quality," making it appealing not only to young people but also to a wide range of generations.

Highlights

  • Shopping floor: A variety of unique stores are available, including domestic and international select shops and brands, household goods, interior goods, cosmetics, etc. Seasonal limited-time shops and pop-up stores are also frequently held.
  • Restaurants and Cafes: A wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese restaurants are available for lunch and dinner. There are also plenty of sweets and casual cafes.
  • Event space and exhibitions: Art exhibitions, workshops, product fairs and more are held regularly, providing plenty of opportunities to experience culture.

Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)

  • Crowds: The mall is extremely crowded on weekends, public holidays, during evening rush hour, during the New Year holidays, sales, and when events are held. Please allow plenty of time for your arrival as aisles and elevators will also be crowded.
  • Manners: The building is a mixed-use space that includes commercial facilities and a theater. Please be aware that standing for long periods of time while walking, talking loudly, and taking flash photography may be a nuisance to others. Please refrain from eating or drinking anywhere other than the food and beverage area.
  • Photography: Photography may be restricted depending on the exhibit or store. Please follow the notices and instructions of staff.
  • Seasonal notes: The park may be particularly crowded and have entry restrictions during the New Year holidays, Golden Week, and Christmas. Also, the number of visitors and opening hours may change due to weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold, so we recommend checking official information in advance.
  • Access Note: There are many exits and passageways around Shibuya Station, so it may be difficult for first-time visitors to find their way to their destination. For a smoother access, use the signs inside the station or the facility's website/map.

*Please check the Shibuya Hikarie official website and official social media for the latest opening hours, event information, facility usage rules, etc.
