■ Overview (history, characteristics, appeal)
Hamadera Park is a historic comprehensive park near the seaside in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. Since the Meiji and Taisho periods, it has been developed as a place of relaxation for the local community, and is characterized by its diverse landscapes, including pine forests, wide lawns, ponds, and flower beds. With seasonal natural scenery, children's play equipment and sports facilities, and a pool that is open in the summer, it is widely used by families and those who enjoy strolling and photography. Another attraction is the retro train station building and townscape that remain nearby.

■Highlights
- Pine forest and seaside scenery: The pine forest is located close to the sea and receives the sea breeze, making it a great place to take a walk or relax on a bench. You can enjoy the view of the sea from the walking path.
– A large grassy area: Perfect for picnics, playing frisbees, or relaxing on a picnic blanket. Events are sometimes held here.
- Flower beds and rose garden: Seasonal flowers are planted here, and you can enjoy them from spring to early summer and autumn (the flowering period varies from year to year). This is a popular photo spot.
- Pond, bridge, and garden paths: The scenery around the pond and the garden paths create a relaxing atmosphere, making them ideal for walking. You can also expect to observe wild birds.
– Children's play equipment and sports facilities: In addition to play equipment and open spaces, there are also sports facilities such as tennis courts (reservations and fees may be required for use).
– Summer pool: This outdoor pool is open in the summer (opening times vary by year) and is popular with families.
- Retro station buildings and streetscapes in the surrounding area: The station closest to the park still has charming buildings, and you can enjoy a historical atmosphere by strolling around the area.

■Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Nearest station: Hamadera Park Station (Nankai Electric Railway line) *Please check the exact line name and exit when using the facility. It is accessible on foot from the station (approximately a few minutes to 10 minutes on foot).
- By car: There may be parking lots nearby, but they can get crowded during events and in the summer, so we recommend using public transportation. Please check the number of parking spaces and fees in advance.
- Bus: You may be able to access the area by local bus within Sakai City. It is convenient to check the name of the bus stop near your destination in advance.
- Bicycles: The park is easily accessible by bicycle, as it has a lot of flat terrain. Please check whether there is a bicycle parking area within the park.
(Note) Please check the official website or transportation information in advance for the latest timetables, operation information, parking information, and access routes.

■ Estimated stay (estimated time required)
– Quick stroll and photography: 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Leisurely walk/picnic: 1-2 hours
– Pool use, sports, and staying with children: Half a day to one day (varies depending on facility use)
The length of your stay will vary greatly depending on your purpose, so be sure to plan well in advance if you are planning an event or using a facility.

■ Nearby spots
- Beach and coastal areas: The coast is easily accessible from the park, allowing you to enjoy a stroll along the waterfront and admire the sunset.
- Major tourist attractions in Sakai City (accessible by public transportation): It is also recommended to combine this tour with a tour of historical sites and cultural facilities in Sakai City, such as Daisen Park (Emperor Nintoku's Tomb) and Sakai City Museum.
- Restaurants and shopping streets around the station: There are cafes and restaurants where you can stop by after your stroll. Enjoy the local cuisine.
(Please check the opening status and business hours of each facility before visiting.)

■Points to note (crowds, etiquette, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Crowds: The park tends to be crowded during the summer (especially when the pool is open), on weekends, and on public holidays. Be aware of crowds in the parking lot and inside the park. It also gets crowded during events.
Manners: Always take your trash with you, fires (barbecues, etc.) are prohibited or only allowed in designated areas, dogs and other pets must be kept on a leash and their droppings must be taken home with you. Accessible paths for strollers and wheelchairs vary depending on the location, so please check in advance.
- Seasonal precautions: In summer, take measures against sun exposure, heatstroke, and insects such as mosquitoes. On days with strong sea breezes and in winter, it can get cold, so take measures to protect yourself from the cold. The park facilities may be closed during typhoons and heavy rain.
- Facility use: Paid facilities such as tennis courts and swimming pools may require reservations or fees, so please check the official information in advance.
- Safety: Keep an eye on small children at all times, especially at ponds and beaches. Do not go near the coast when there are high waves or strong winds.

Finally, please note that information about park opening hours, events, facility usage, opening and closing times, and parking availability may change. We recommend checking the latest information on the official websites of Sakai City and Hamadera Park (or the Nankai Electric Railway station information) before your visit.
