Shoka Sonjuku was a private school opened by Yoshida Shoin during the late Edo period, and is currently preserved in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The small wooden building with a thatched roof is known as the place where Yoshida Shoin personally taught patriots. It has great historical value as it produced many talented people who played important roles in the Meiji Restoration, including Takasugi Shinsaku, Ito Hirobumi, Yamagata Aritomo, and Kido Takayoshi, and is one of the highlights of a historical stroll through Hagi.

- Nearest train station: JR Sanin Main Line Higashi-Hagi Station. From the station, it is convenient to take a taxi or bus.
- Bus: City loop buses and sightseeing buses may operate from Higashi-Hagi Station (please check the schedule in advance as the number of buses is limited).
- Taxi: Approximately 10-15 minutes by taxi from Higashi-Hagi Station (depending on road conditions).
- By car: Head towards Hagi via the Chugoku Expressway and Sanyo Expressway. There are paid parking lots scattered around the city, so it's convenient to park along the tourist route.
- Long-distance access: There are also express buses from Shin-Yamaguchi Station and other stations heading to Hagi city. Combining multiple modes of transportation will make your trip smoother.

- If you include a stroll around Shoin-related spots and the castle town, it will take about 1.5 to 3 hours (it can be a half-day or full-day course if you visit the surrounding museums and former samurai residences).

- Accessibility: Due to the building's old structure, there are steps and narrow passageways, making it difficult to tour the interior in a wheelchair. We recommend focusing on viewing the exterior and strolling around the surrounding area.
- Clothing and weather: You will be moving around outdoors a lot. It can get very hot in the summer, so please bring plenty of water and a hat. In the winter, it can get very cold, so please take measures to protect yourself from the cold.
- Parking and Transportation: Public transportation in the city may be limited. Please check the timetable in advance if using public transportation.
