Amanoiwato Shrine, located in Takachiho Town, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture, is a shrine connected to the legend of Amaterasu Omikami hiding in the Heavenly Rock Cave, as described in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. Since ancient times, it has attracted worshippers as a sacred place dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami, and is notable for the large number of people who visit it along with the Amanoiwato Cave, the setting of the myth, and Amanoyasukawara, where the gods are said to have met for consultation.

• Clothing and walking：The approach to the shrine and surrounding area has steps, stone steps, and unpaved areas. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Be careful as the path can be slippery in rainy weather.
