Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Hachinohe Portal Museum Hacchi is a multi-purpose regional cultural facility located in the center of Hachinohe City. Serving as a base for local information dissemination, interaction, and creative activities, it houses exhibition spaces, workshop rooms, event spaces, a tourist information center, and a sales corner. Through exhibits and programs rooted in local traditions, festivals, food culture, and lifestyles, it plays a role in communicating the "present" and "history" of Hachinohe to both tourists and local residents.
Its distinctive feature is that it is an "open space." Its appeal is that it not only allows visitors to view exhibits, but also hosts many citizen-participation programs, such as hands-on workshops, special exhibitions by local artists and residents, live performances and talk events. It also functions as a tourist information center, making it a convenient place to stop by at the beginning of your Hachinohe sightseeing tour to gather information.
