Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima (commonly known as Mazda Stadium or Zumsta) is a professional baseball stadium that opened in 2009 as the home of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. It follows the tradition of the former Hiroshima Municipal Baseball Stadium, which was beloved by local residents, but is characterized by its design that emphasizes a sense of realism, with spectators and players being close together. The infield seats are positioned close to the outfield seats, and the stadium is known for allowing the cheers of the spectators to reach the players directly.
In addition, with the cooperation of the baseball team and a local company (Mazda), there are plenty of community-based events and fan projects, creating an atmosphere that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. The natural grass field, easy-to-read scoreboard, and ample food, drink, and merchandise stores are also reasons for the stadium's popularity.
Highlights
- The passionate cheering: The biggest highlight is the unified support of the home Carp fans, who wear red uniforms, sing their cheers, and release balloons in the seventh inning.
- Close proximity of the stands to the ground: You can see the players' expressions and play up close, and enjoy the sense of presence from behind the bench or in a defensive position.
- Food: Hiroshima's specialty okonomiyaki and other local foods, as well as a variety of stadium-exclusive menu items. You can watch the game with a beer or snack in hand.
- In-venue events: There are plenty of events that families can enjoy, such as performances before and after opening and between games, fan services, and mascot events.
- Night view and atmosphere: At night, the stadium lights and the red of the spectator seats create a unique and impressive atmosphere.
Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Nearest station: Within walking distance of JR Hiroshima Station (approximately 15-25 minutes walking time).
- Streetcars (Hiroshima Electric Railway) and buses: Streetcars and city buses run from various locations within Hiroshima City. On match days, there are often special services and shuttle buses, so it's convenient to check the information.
- Taxi: From Hiroshima Station, it takes about a few minutes to 10 minutes by taxi (depending on traffic conditions).
- Private car: The private parking lot is limited and often full. Nearby paid parking lots also fill up quickly, so we recommend using public transportation.

- Watching a game (day game/night game): Approximately 3-4 hours from the time the gates open until the end of the game (longer if the game is extended).
- Enjoy gourmet food and shops outside the stadium: If you have 1-2 hours to spare before or after the match, you can enjoy these at your own pace.
- Stadium tour (when available): Approximately 60-90 minutes (check the official website for availability and details).

Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Crowds: Popular attractions, weekends, and holidays can be extremely crowded. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance and arriving early. Be aware of crowds around stations when waiting to enter or when returning home.
- Tickets and admission: Tickets can be purchased in advance from the official website, convenience stores, and ticket agencies. Be careful of resale tickets and purchase through official channels.
- Belongings/Security: Baggage inspections may be conducted. Please avoid bringing large luggage and use coin lockers if necessary.
- Umbrellas and rain: Many seats are uncovered, so be sure to bring rain gear (a simple raincoat or poncho) and cold weather gear. Be careful with umbrellas, as they can block your view of the surroundings.
- Heat Countermeasures: In the summer, take measures against the sun and heatstroke. It's a good idea to bring a hat, a drink, and sunscreen.
- Eating, drinking, and smoking: Alcohol is sold (age verification required). Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas. Please follow proper etiquette within the venue.
- Cheering etiquette: While enthusiastic cheering is appealing, please observe spectator etiquette (such as standing and not shouting loudly, causing a nuisance to others). If there are separate seats for home and away teams, please respect the assigned seats.
- Photography: General photography is permitted, but please refrain from using flash or tripods if they may disturb other visitors. Commercial use may require separate permission.
