Overview (history, characteristics, attractions)
Located in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture, Ghibli Park is an outdoor theme park (exhibition complex) within the Aichi Expo Commemorative Park (commonly known as Moricoro Park) where visitors can experience the world of Studio Ghibli films. The first phase will open in 2022, with multiple areas recreating scenes and the lives of people from Ghibli films being developed and opened in stages. The park boasts photo spots, architectural recreations, and exhibits that immerse visitors in the world of the films, including the indoor exhibition hall "Ghibli's Grand Warehouse," a forest area reminiscent of "My Neighbor Totoro," and areas inspired by "Whisper of the Heart," "Kiki's Delivery Service," and "Princess Mononoke." With few excessive attractions, this is a facility where both adults and children can enjoy strolling, photography, and observing the details.

Highlights
– Ghibli's Big Warehouse: An indoor facility with large and permanent exhibits, set reproductions, short film screenings, shops, and dining options. Popular exhibits include the Cat Bus (there's also a play area for children).
- Dondoko Forest: A grove of trees and a play area reminiscent of "My Neighbor Totoro," with an atmosphere reminiscent of the film and plenty of photo spots.
- Hill of Youth: A landscape reminiscent of youthful works such as "Whisper of the Heart." Enjoy the serene scenery of buildings and benches.
- Kiki's Valley: Streetscape displays and photo spots themed around the world of Kiki's Delivery Service (some areas also have exhibits inside buildings).
- Mononoke Village: A recreation of the rural mountain scenery and old houses inspired by "Princess Mononoke." You can take a stroll in harmony with nature (opening in stages).
- Photo spots: There are many photogenic locations, including gates, bridges, houses, and forest paths that recreate the atmosphere of the work.
- Shops & Food: There are shops selling Ghibli-related merchandise, as well as cafes and snack bars, and sometimes there are limited edition items that can only be purchased here.

Access (nearest station, transportation, etc.)
- Nearest station: The nearest station is the Linimo (Tobu Kyuryo Line) "Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen-koen Station (Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen-koen)". It is within walking distance from the station (it is a bit of a walk to the park entrance, so follow the signs).
– General directions from Nagoya:
Take the Higashiyama Line subway to Fujigaoka Station, then transfer to the Linimo and get off at Expo Memorial Park Station (approximately 40-60 minutes, depending on transfers).
– Travel time from Nagoya Station varies depending on the route and time of day. We recommend using public transportation.
- By car: The park has a parking lot, but it tends to get crowded on weekends and holidays. We recommend using public transportation. Please check the official website in advance for parking availability and fees.
- From the airport: From Chubu Centrair International Airport, take the subway or Linimo via Nagoya, or rent a car or take a taxi.
- Note: Tickets are generally sold in advance with a specified date and time. Please be sure to check the official information before visiting the park for details on how to purchase tickets, admission times, meeting points, etc.

Estimated stay (estimated time required)
– Mini walk + indoor exhibits only: 2-3 hours
- Half a day (3-5 hours) to explore the main areas and take photos
- Explore all areas thoroughly, including dining and shopping: 1 day (6-8 hours)
*This may vary depending on the level of congestion, exhibition entry restrictions, and the pace of outdoor walking. Please plan with plenty of time.

Things to be aware of (crowds, manners, seasonal precautions, etc.)
- Tickets: Tickets are generally purchased in advance with a specified date and time. Popular dates often sell out immediately after release, so please purchase early at the official ticket office (official website, designated ticket outlets). Please check the official website for ticket purchase methods, exchanges, and cancellation policies.
- Crowds: It gets very crowded on weekends, public holidays, and during long vacations. Weekdays and immediately after opening tend to be less crowded.
- Weather precautions: As there are many outdoor areas, please bring along measures to protect yourself from the heat in summer (drinks, hats, sunscreen), warm clothing in winter, and rain gear and comfortable walking shoes as there are slippery areas in rainy weather.
- Manners: Do not touch exhibits or enter restricted areas. Photography may be prohibited in some indoor areas or in certain exhibits, so please follow the signs. Refrain from noise and nuisances. Pets are generally not allowed (there are exceptions, such as assistance dogs. Check the official rules for details).
- Re-entry and eating and drinking: Rules regarding re-entry and eating and drinking may differ depending on the facility. Please follow the rules, such as eating and drinking in designated areas.
- Barrier-free access/traveling with infants: Some areas of the park have steps and unpaved roads. It's a good idea to check the official information before you go regarding stroller and wheelchair access.
- Crime prevention and valuables management: Please be careful with your luggage and valuables when it is crowded.

lastly
Ghibli Park is a place that focuses on "seeing," "feeling," and "taking photos." Tickets and the latest official information (opening areas, opening hours, exhibit changes, sales rules, etc.) are updated regularly, so be sure to check the official website before visiting. For an enjoyable stay, plan with plenty of time and enjoy the world of the film.
